From Linda, Scootbacks Vice President: (announcement about Dance in Nov. 2021)

It is with a sad heart that I announce that the Scootbacks FISH benefit dance with Lanny Weaklend, scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving, has been canceled. The Board made this decision based on the new mask mandate that is going into effect tomorrow for Adams and Jefferson Counties. Since our venue, the Rose Hill Grange, is in Adams County, we decided that we cannot continue as planned. The Prairie Stars were having Lanny on Saturday, but they have canceled as well.

With good luck, our December 10th dance with Andy Allemao will still go on as planned and we will be dancing at our regular place, the Broomfield United Methodist Church. Stay tuned for some good news, and take a walk on Friday. Hope you all have a safe holiday.

Dear Scootbacks Members and Guests, the schedule for 21-22 is available.

SEE "Scootbacks Dance Schedule" Tab, lower left side.

Did you know that square dancing is the official folk dance of Colorado? Did you know that square dancers dance to a variety of music, including, but not limited to Rock and Roll, Classical, Disco, Western, Big Band, 50’s, and Country Music? If you answered no, you just learned something new about square dancing.

Scootbacks dance mainstream and plus as well as round dancing (synchronized ballroom dance). We normally dance on the 2nd and 4th Fridays from September through April. On 5th Fridays, we may have an all plus dance. We are dark during the summer.

Our Club Dances:

We begin each evening with pre-rounds at 7:15 pm with some higher-level rounds and phase II-III rounds at 7:30. Our square dance program begins at 8 pm, with one round dance between each square dance tip. Usually, the fourth tip is Plus. See our Dance Schedule Page for details.

Our dances are held at the Broomfield United Methodist Church, located at 545 West 10th Avenue, Broomfield, CO 80020. We dance in the church’s Family Life Center, which is accessible at the north end of the east side parking lot. Due to covid-19 pandemic the club has limited refreshments at our dances. Please bring your own water bottle. Dancers and guests may bring commercially packaged snacks if they wish.

Singles, couples, families, and youth are always welcome at our dances.

Upcoming dances can be viewed on our dance schedule page.
